Tom Foozer recently obtained the past issues of our newsletter starting with the original newsletters from 1983 which at that time was a rather brief black and white typed newsletter called the “Salt Shaker Collectors Newsletter.” In December of 1987 the name “The Pioneer” was adopted and the newsletter became a full color publication in 2002. Eventually electronic copies were offered to members as an alternative to printed copies and beginning in 2019 The Pioneer became an online-only publication. Until recently, we only had online files for 2018 through 2023 uploaded on our website. Now that Tom has all the old issues, he has begun the process of scanning them and posting the electronic copies (pdfs) to our website. This will be a monumental task and Rick Koenig and June Sprock have volunteered to assist. Tom has made tremendous progress and at this point all the newsletters from 1983 through 1996 have been posted on our website. In the near future, our website will offer clickable links to every issue of our newsletter. The online newsletters are available for club members to peruse and serve as a permanent record of the history of our club. Thanks to Tom for his efforts to make this happen!
