The Antique and Art Glass Salt Shaker Collectors Society (AAGSSCS) was founded by the late Dottie and Bill Avery in 1983. Annual conventions began in 1986. The club name was changed to the Antique Glass Salt and Sugar Shaker Club (AGSSSC) in 2009 after it was voted to expand the scope of the organization to include sugar shakers.
