Mt. Washington’s Squatty Lobe Shakers

These shakers were named by Peterson in, “Glass salt Shakers, 1000 Patterns”. They are known in Decorated Satin Glass and in rare cases of Decorated Opalware (Shiny). The satin shakers have a two piece top. The shiny shakers have a one piece top. It is not known if the tops on the shiny shakers are original. It is difficult to distinguish the time frame of manufacture and attribution to Mt Washington, Pairpoint, or Smith Brothers. The Mt Washington attribution is based upon the Fuchsia decoration known on other Mt Washington salt and sugar shakers.
