Challinor Taylor “Square” Shakers

Challinor made some beautiful slag shakers. Pictured below are many square shakers with unusual colors and also with interesting molded designs. The blue green slag shaker now pictured on our AGSSSC web “home page” (and also below) is called “Oval and Fans” or “Beaded Oval Mirror.” If you want to see Challinor shakers in carnival glass with some of these same designs, please go to the section on carnival shakers, accessed either by clicking on the link at the end of this section or via the menu of articles/pictures in The Pioneer section.

Here are four views of a slag “S” shaker in blue/multi-color.

Some shakers have plain panels; Green, Yellow (1), Yellow (2), Pink (limited slag), White (with advertisement)

Some shakers have an “S” or a “P”; Blue S, Multi-colored S, Yellow S, Yellow P

Some are called “Horseshoe and Astor”; Blue, Green (nearly homogenous), Blue, Brown, Dark Gray, Blue

Some have a SeaShell on them (one of the most common); Green (nearly homogenous), Blue, Green, or enjoy the many variations in yellows, golds, tans, browns, and cream.

One of the rarest is called Oval and Fans or “Beaded Oval Mirror”; Blue (nearly homogenous), Yellow, Gray, Blue Green

Here are a very “thin slag” in the “S” mold, a very rare clear blue glass Oval and Fans, and a clear dark amethyst “S” mold; Thin light gray, clear blue, dark clear amethyst
